Red Box Missions
The History of Red Box Missions
Over thirty years ago, a Grove City College student applied for the first Mission Service Opportunity, and in the summer of 1977, Jim Leuenberger went to Guatemala. He went as an expression of the student body's love and concern for other people and in obedience to God's commandment to take the Gospel to "all the world." The program name has changed to Red Box Missions, the student body has changed, but our commitment to world missions remains.
Do you hear God's call to your heart? The same still, small voice that spoke to Jim Leuenberger a generation ago? Do you want to represent the best that Grove City College has to offer? A Red Box mission will poke you, prod you, stretch your spirit, bend your will and ultimately transform your mind to conform to His pattern. It isn't easy to spend a summer on your own in a totally foreign culture, eat strange foods and long for an English speaking voice. However, our God is faithful and will sustain you.
Application materials are available each fall and are due October 19, 2012.
If you want to know more, Dr. Mark Graham (firstname.lastname@example.org or 724-458-3833) can answer questions about the program.
