MISSION Opportunities

Easter Break Trip to Tyronza, Arkansas

GCC students are invited to partner with Hosanna Industries and make repairs to the St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church in Tyronza, Arkansas. Hosanna rebuilt this church in 1997 after the church was a victim to the church hate burnings in that area. Tasks for the week include: roofing, ditch digging, foundation water proofing, drywall repairs and painting, and flooring repairs/replacement. Accommodations will be in sleeping bags on the church floor. All meals will be provided by the church. The trip will depart from Hosanna Industries' campus at 6 am on Saturday, April 16. Sunday the group will worship with the St. Mark's Missionary Baptist congregation and do some minor prep tasks for Monday. The group will then work Monday-Wednesday, and depart for home on Thursday, April 21st at 6 am. If there is any interest in this trip, please call the Hosanna Industries office at 724-770-0262 and ask for their volunteer coordinator, Emily Cadenhead.
