Accounting
Programs:
The
accounting
program
has
an
excellent
placement
rate
[over
90%]
in
recent
history.
Three
of
the
“Big
4”
international
accounting
firms,
along
with
many
regional
accounting
firms
and
companies
of
all
sizes,
actively
recruit
GCC
students
for
both
full-time
positions
as
well
as
summer
internships.
Students
work
closely
with
the
Career
Services
Office
and
the
accounting
faculty
during
this
process.
For
those
students
interested
in
graduate
programs
to
satisfy
the
150-hour
CPA
licensing
requirement
or
otherwise
continue
their
education
in a
business-related
field,
our
graduates
are
consistently
admitted
to
top-tier
M.S.
in
Accounting
and
M.B.A.
programs
throughout
the
country.
These
schools
include,
but
are
not
limited
to,
the
University
of
Arizona,
Case
Western
Reserve
University,
Duke
University,
the
University
of
North
Carolina,
Penn
State
University,
the
University
of
Pittsburgh,
Ohio
State
University,
Indiana
University
and
many
others.
150-hour
CPA
Licensing
Options:
As
an
alternative
to a
fifth
year
attending
a
graduate
school
program,
a
number
of
accounting
majors
seek
to
complete
the
150-hour
AICPA
requirement
during
their
four
years
at
Grove
City.
This
option
is
best
suited
for
those
students
who
come
to
college
having
earned
at
least
six
college
credits
either
through
Advanced
Placement
[AP]
courses
or
taking
college
courses
during
their
senior
year
of
high
school.
This
option
can
become
a
reality
with
careful
planning
and
the
willingness
to
complete
several
courses
during
GCC's
winter
intersession
in
early
January
or
summer
intersession
in
late
May.
The
department
now
offers
a
double-major
in
Accounting
and
Finance
as
part
of
their
150-credit
hour,
4-year
program.
