Job Placement & M.S. in Accounting Programs:

The accounting program has an excellent placement rate [over 90%] in recent history.  Three of the “Big 4” international accounting firms, along with many regional accounting firms and companies of all sizes, actively recruit GCC students for both full-time positions as well as summer internships.

Students work closely with the Career Services Office and the accounting faculty during this process.  For those students interested in graduate programs to satisfy the 150-hour CPA licensing requirement or otherwise continue their education in a business-related field, our graduates are consistently admitted to top-tier M.S. in Accounting and M.B.A. programs throughout the country.  These schools include, but are not limited to, the University of Arizona, Case Western Reserve University, Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Penn State University, the University of Pittsburgh, Ohio State University, Indiana University and many others.

150-hour CPA Licensing Options:

As an alternative to a fifth year attending a graduate school program, a number of accounting majors seek to complete the 150-hour AICPA requirement during their four years at Grove City.  This option is best suited for those students who come to college having earned at least six college credits either through Advanced Placement [AP] courses or taking college courses during their senior year of high school.  This option can become a reality with careful planning and the willingness to complete several courses during GCC's winter intersession in early January or summer intersession in late May.  The department now offers a double-major in Accounting and Finance as part of their 150-credit hour, 4-year program.  See the link on our homepage or contact Dr. Baglia, Chair, for more information at dsbaglia@gcc.edu.  For more information on state licensing requirements, please click on the following link: http://www.beckercpa.com/state/index.cfm.
