What influenced your decision to go to graduate school?

While teaching and coaching, I realized I wanted to help students on a more personal level with less time constraints.  A guidance counselor position could only be acquired through graduate work.

How did you explore graduate school?

I had to search for programs that I could afford… In other words, where could I go, still work and complete a program that fit my goals.  Keep in mind, there weren’t good online options back then.  Now, with quality options like programs through Liberty University, the opportunities to continue the education process abound.

Do you have any tips related to the application process?

Pay attention to details.  There is nothing worse than misspellings or typos.  Also, networking can be one of the biggest advantages!
