What influenced your decision to go to graduate
How did you explore graduate
♦ Do you have any tips related to the
I am currently a first-year graduate school student at Shenandoah
University. One of my primary reasons for attending is that it will open
more doors within education that I can choose to go through if I want.
Completing the graduate program also introduces you to new ideas that
can be very helpful for professional growth. The pay raise that comes
with a Master's degree is, of course, a great incentive.
I attended a few informational sessions concerning graduate programs.
Ultimately, my choice to attend Shenandoah University came down to
proximity and affordability. Although these may not be the "right"
reasons to choose a school, only having to drive 10 minutes each way to
classes and not having to stress too much about tuition is helpful when
trying to strike the professional/personal life balance. I have enjoyed
my classes and am glad I chose the program.
During the application process, I would encourage applicants to think
long-term. What doors do you want open to you in education 10, 20, and
30 years in the future?
