SRU welcomes GCC education seniors to this event. A panel of
school administrators will kick off the day by offering tips on the
job-hunting process; a teacher job fair will follow. Students are
able to interact with employers at their respective tables; some
employers will conduct interviews.

Bering Strait School District Virtual Employer Info Sesion

A virtual info session on the Bering Strait School District in
Alaska will be held on Monday March 12th, 2012 from 5:30-6:15pm. There

currently teaching at the Bering Strait School District in Alaska.

The Bering Strait School District, in
northwest Alaska, serves fifteen isolated villages on the Seward
Peninsula, on the eastern end of Norton Sound and on two islands in the

offering advice to current education majors on looking for jobs. Shane has
been a PSSA Math Coach and is currently a long-term sub at Freeport Area
Junior High. At the info session Shane will offer tips on: portfolios,
resumes, and other job search documents; where to look for jobs; how to
proceed when geographical options are limited; developing an effective
"back-up" plan; creative job search strategies; and tips for transitioning
to the classroom.
