Welcome, Parents!
The Education Department and Grove City College are
dedicated to the career and professional development of your child.
A tangible indication of our commitment is the inclusion of a career
services professional, specifically, for elementary and secondary
education students. Education Career Services (ECS) is located
conveniently in the Education Department within a suite of faculty
offices. As a result, your son/daughter has convenient access to
the Associate Director for individual appointments. Embedding ECS
within the Education Department, allows the Associate Director to
collaborate with faculty and to integrate career and professional
development into the academic preparation of education students.
Students are encouraged to meet with the Associate Director of ECS
during their freshman year to begin building a four-year career
development program that includes self-awareness, career exploration,
experiential opportunities and preparation for the transition to
employment or graduate study. To discuss more about ECS, we invite
you to peruse the ECS website and contact
Deborah Snyder, Associate
Director.
As a parent, you have a significant role in supporting your child's
career preparation. Please encourage your son/daughter to visit
ECS-- your encouragement makes a difference!
To further assist you, our professional career development association
offers some helpful articles for parents. Here are some links to
the National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE)
Jobweb. You'll find the "Information for Parents" quite
relevant. Here are some highlights under "Careers 411":
