Activities and Organizations

Sure, there's lots of work to be done, but who says math majors don't have time for a little fun?  There are several organizations designed specifically for students with an interest in math or computers, such as Kappa Mu Epsilon or INTERCOM.  You can also click on each organization's logo to travel to the national webpage.

Kappa Mu Epsilon

President: Lauren Zientek

Vice President: Lauren Powers

Advisor: Mr. Daniel Dean

Kappa Mu Epsilon is a national mathematics honorary which strives to "develop an appreciation for the beauty in mathematics." To be eligible for membership, a candidate must be in the top 35% of his class and have completed at least three college courses in mathematics and at least one semester in calculus with a "B" average or better. New members are inducted each semester.

INTERCOM

President: Nathan Smith

Advisor: Dr. Kelly Bonomo

Intercom serves two purposes: It gives GCC students an opportunity to teach computers and gives children in the community a chance to learn about them. Students participate to earn credit on a semester basis.
