Physics faculty and students use modern scientific equipment in and outside of campus to conduct research and publish their findings in leading science journals. Several lab spaces are located in Rockwell Hall, housing a spectroscope, an ultra-fast high-power infrared laser, a sputtering chamber, and a scanning tunneling microscope. In addition, the college has two observatories: the on-campus observatory and the Grove City College Observatory near Edinboro.
