Religion Department

 Activities

Many students seek to get involved in activities regarding their major here at Grove City College. Also, given the Christian commitment of the campus, there exist a multitude of Christian groups that focus on different aspects of the Christian life and Christian calling.  Thus, although the Religion Department only has one specific group associated with it, there are lots of other activities that are related to religion and faith concerns with which students may get involved.

TAK

TAK, or ThAK, is Theta Alpha Kappa.  It is a national religion honorary. Joining TAK is a good way to get involved with fellow Christian Thought majors and Christian Service at the same time, and it promotes the study in religion and theology on a college campus. TAK is a very minimal organization. During each semester, TAK does a service projects and hosts a scholarly activity.

Requirements:

Undergraduate students must have:

  1. Completed at least three semesters (or five quarters) at an institution having a local chapter in good standing

  2. Completed a minimum of twelve (12) semester credits (or eighteen quarter credits) in courses representing Religious Studies or Theological Studies

  3. Attained a grade point average of at least 3.5 (B+) in such courses

  4. Attained at least a 3.0 grade point average (or B) in their total academic program to date

  5. Been ranked in at least the upper 35% of their class in general scholarship at the time of induction.

TAK sends out letters of acceptance to any qualified students at GCC.  Those students can choose to join or not to join TAK.
