Below is a list of current college-sponsored ICO trips. Please contact the leader(s) of the trip(s) in which you are interested to receive more information. Please note that some trips may already be filled to the maximum number of students and unable to accept additional participants.

Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic January 5-19, 2013 Michael Flecker & Ben Colas

ICO Hato Mayor partners with Meeting God in Missions (MGM) to serve the people of Hato Mayor through various ministries. Students will be involved in leading a VBS, construction activities, a baseball ministry (playing baseball and then sharing the Gospel), and several clinics (optical, dental, and medical clinics).

Tholos, Greece January 2-18, 2013 Rebekah Parsons

 

ICO Greece will partner with Mission to the World to do various service projects to serve the needs of the people in Tholos. While in Tholos, the group will be working alongside the Greek Evangelical Church in Tholos, which has a strong program designed to serve the community. The group may also teach VBS and perform skits for the community.

Pespire, Honduras  January 8-14, 2013 Grace Rieman & Aaron Sircy

ICO Honduras will partner with Central American Relief Efforts (CARE) to conduct medical clinics for people in the community. Students will be involved in performing eye screenings, teaching dental hygiene, and providing medical care to school students and adults in some of the poorest rural areas of Pespire. The group will also travel to schools in rural communities with a Honduran dentist to educate children about dental hygiene. This trip will also involve light construction and painting at schools and medical clinics.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic  January 3-10, 2013 Dan McLaughlin & Daniel Landskroener

 This trip will be working with the Sisters of the Divine Providence in Santo Domingo. During their time in the DR, they will be working with the elderly, spending time with the school children at a Catholic school, and building a playground for the local community.

 

Carillos de Poas, Costa Rica  Easter Break Wendy Amadee & Dennis Steinbeck

ICO Costa Rica will be working with La Iglesia Metodista (The Methodist Church) in Carillos de Poas. The team will be hosting a vacation Bible school for the children at the church and performing on-site construction.

Sacabaja, Guatemala  Easter Break Amber Durkee, Sarah Graybill, & Mario Posteraro

ICO Guatemala partners with and stays at Hogar de Vida in San Andres, which is an orphanage for children, ranging from ages 0-18. The team will spend time playing games and sports, making crafts, swimming in the river, etc, as well as participating in a hair washing ministry for surrounding villages to San Andres. Since it will be Holy Week, the team will be able to go to several different Guatemalan churches throughout the week.

Barahona, Dominican Republic  Easter Break Brittany Knowles

This trip will be working with Grace and Peace Fellowship. During their time in the DR, the team will spend part of their time doing construction work building benches and tables, as well as installing windows and painting, for the mission's school program. The rest of the trip will be spent conducting a VBS at the newly renovated school building.

Ashland, KY Easter Break Paul Miles & Lynn Trick

ICO Ashland works with Habitat for Humanity and Hillcrest-Bruce Mission, an organization that serves low-income apartments in Ashland and has a preschool, food pantry, classes for women, etc.  The team also will work with Safe Harbor, a battered women’s shelter, and, in the past, this team has done some work with a local pregnancy care center. Time will also be spent playing with children who live in a local apartment complex for low-income families.

Camden, NJ Easter Break Andie Hobson & Pam Baster

ICO Camden partners with Fellowship House and will be helping with an after-school program. The team will also be involved in projects to help the staff at Fellowship House including cleaning, organizing, sorting, and other needs.

Durham, NC Easter Break Kristen Yealy & Paul Brant

ICO Durham will partner with Duke University InterVarsity and Blacknall Presbyterian Church. The team will be working with Pregnancy Support Services, Urban Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity and will also be participating in prayer walks through Duke University and Durham.


Providence, RI Easter Break Andrew Caffro & Andrea Scroggs

ICO Rhode Island will serve for a week at the Providence Rescue Mission, helping with painting, preparing food, helping with the nightly chapel service, assisting with office work, and organizing the clothing bank, as well as talking to the guests at the mission.

Ashley
Tucson, AZ Easter Break Ashley Curle, Todd Harris, & Zack Woods

ICO Tucson will partner with Life in Christ church and The Giving Tree. The team will be leading a VBS and feed the homeless each night. They will also be tutoring, serving at both ministry sites, and participating in a construction project.

Chicago, IL Easter Break Paul Herman, Emily VanVranken, & Ali Young

ICO Chicago will partner with Central Assembly of God in Chicago to do ministry activities including a VBS camp, homeless ministry, an after school program, and food depository.
