The Department of
Education at Grove City College offers the Internship
Program to enable students to advance their professional
preparation through work experiences which complement the
course work in their major and to earn academic credit.
Benefits of Internship Experience:
a) to develop and refine the skills of a
quality educator in real-world experiences;
b) to develop interpersonal and professional skills in the
work place;
c) to merge academic theory and practice;
d) to increase understanding of calling and post graduation
opportunities.
Student eligibility requirements to earn
internship credit in the Department of Education:

Have attained at least junior
standing at the start of the internship

Be enrolled as an Education major
-
Have sufficient QPA standing within
the Education department
-
Have a faculty sponsor from the
Department of Education
-
Have a positive standing with clearance requirements and
Student Life and Learning.
To Pursue an Internship
Students interested in the Education
Department’s Internship Program should contact the
Internship Coordinator, Deborah Snyder, Associate Director
of Education Career Services, HAL – Suite 100,

The
Internship Coordinator will assist the student with: a) how
to identify a potential position; b) host organization
responsibilities; c) on-site supervisor requirements; d)
student responsibilities; e) financial matters; f)
application, performance and evaluation processes.
The Internship Coordinator will
collaborate with the Associate Chair of the Education
Department, Dr. Phyllis Genareo, to ensure that all
application guidelines are met.
Additionally, the student will
be instructed to meet with the Associate Chair to obtain
official approval.

resume preparation; c) exploration of potential employment
resources; and d) interview tips.
