Technical Theatre & Drama

Media Services extends its technical support roles into the dramatic side of campus activities, found primarily in the Pew Fine Arts Center (PFAC).  With one of the largest College stages in Pennsylvania, PFAC's Ketler Auditorium mainstage and Little Theatre provide numerous opportunities each semester for student performances such as plays, musicals and concerts, as well as inviting professional musicians and actors to campus with the annual Showcase Series productions.

Media Services offers technical support and facility oversight of the auditoriums and stages on campus, managed by Mr. Dan Wolfe (x3822 or dlwolfe@gcc.edu), PFAC Theatre Tech Director & Assistant Professor of Theatre.

Student technical work opportunities in the theatre are available each year.  These "technical keyholder" positions are granted to deserving tech-savvy students who meet the rigorous qualifications and exhibit a keen interest in the technical aspects of theatre.  Keyholders help with facility upkeep and offer technical expertise for all events in Ketler Auditorium and the Little Theatre.

Keyholders are available during weekly "work hours" and by appointment to offer stage certifications to interested students.  Certifications are currently available in the following areas: General Safety, Sound, Lighting, Rigging, Set Shop, Costumes.
