Information for Incoming Freshmen

This page was designed to provide incoming freshmen important information on the fall course scheduling process. Some majors require feedback from the student through an online survey to create the fall schedule and some majors have their schedule predetermined.

Majors that are fully scheduled and do not require the scheduling survey are Biochemistry, Biology General Science Secondary Education (all non-education biology majors complete the survey), all Chemistry majors including Secondary Education, Computer Science (B.S.), Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, and all Physics majors including Secondary Education.

Music majors will also not participate in the survey. They are partially scheduled with required courses and will work with Music Department faculty directly on completing their schedule. Watch for communication from them in early summer.

*For those not required to complete the survey, there is still important information on this page for you. Please be sure to review the 'GCC Major Status Sheets', 'Advising Guides', 'Course Selections by Major', 'Freshman Course Descriptions', and 'Additional Resources' information.

For those required to complete the survey, please review all of the documents listed below.

Note: If you have decided to change your major from what you entered on your admissions application, please email the Admissions Office at admissions@gcc.edu to request that change.
