Three Wolverines honored by PAC

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Three Grove City College fall student-athletes have been honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference as Players of the Week in their respective sports for games played from October 6-12, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Senior Caroline McGuire (Shorewood, Wis./Dominican) was named the conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Week while junior Seth Loew (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and senior George DeAugustino (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) were named Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

McGuire posted a 3-0 week for the Wolverines (6-3, 5-1 PAC), including a pair of victories against conference-leading Westminster. After teaming with junior Karolina Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) for an 8-4 win at first doubles, McGuire rallied to defeat the Titans' Sydney Sterner 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 at first singles on Thursday afternoon. She and Lagerquist also earned an 8-3 win at first doubles against Thiel on Friday.

Grove City women's tennis return to action on Wednesday at Washington and Jefferson at 3:30 p.m.

Loew recorded four goals and three assists to lead the men's soccer team (7-4-1, 2-1 PAC) to a pair of conference wins. He netted his second career hat trick and added a pair of assists for a career-high eight points in the Wolverines' 9-0 victory over Thiel before posting a goal and an assist in Grove City's 5-0 road victory over Bethany.

Loew leads the PAC in goals (8) and points (24) and is tied for the conference lead with eight assists. He has also moved into the top ten in Grove City men's soccer history for career goals (23), assists (14) and points (60).

DeAugustino led the Wolverine defense to a pair of conference shutout wins and also registered his second goal of the season in Grove City's 9-0 victory over Thiel. The Wolverines held their opponents to just 12 total shots in the two matches, including just two on goal.

Grove City men's soccer travels to Geneva on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. conference match.
