Lathrop named ECAC Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Senior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for the Division III South Region, as announced by the conference office late Tuesday afternoon.

Lathrop, who earlier this week was named Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, earned the honor after leading the Wolverines to a 2-0 week in conference play. After recording one save in 72:40 of action in Wednesday's 4-0 win at Geneva, Lathrop stopped six shots in a complete-game, 3-0 shutout win over Washington in Jefferson on Saturday. It marked the 11th complete-game shutout of Lathrop's career, giving her a share of the all-time record at the College in that category.

With five consecutive shutout victories, Lathrop has lowered her goals against average to 0.99 and raised her save percentage to 0.833, both of which rank third in the conference. In league play, she has yet to a concede a goal through five matches.

The Wolverine women's soccer team (6-8-1, 5-0 PAC) visits Chatham on Wednesday in a 7:30 p.m. match that will be contested at Carnegie Mellon.
