Pitt-Bradford rallies to beat GCC

GROVE CITY, PA, March 24, 2000--Brad Mason cracked two home runs, including a game-winning two-run shot in the ninth, to lift Pitt-Bradford over host Grove City, 8-7, on Friday.

Nate Kauffman (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) put the Wolverines ahead, 7-6, in the seventh with a two-run homer, driving in J.G. Louden (Morgantown, WV/University), who doubled.  Louden finished 4-for-5 in the game, while Kauffman was 3-for-5, adding a double and a single.

Grove City out-hit the Panthers, 15-8, and led 5-2 before Bradford posted a four-run seventh.  

Adam Myers (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake) and Steve Navarro (Easton, PA/The Hill School) contributed a pair of hits each for GCC.  Myers had a two-run single in the third and a run-producing double in the sixth.

Ben Helms (Mead, WA/St. George School) started and went six innings, allowing two runs and five hits, while striking out four and walking four.   

The Wolverines fell to 1-5 overall, while Pitt-Bradford improved to 3-11.
