Wolverines earn PAC sweep at Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, PA, March 25, 2000--Mike Kashurba (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) blasted a pair of two-run homers as Grove City (3-5, 3-1 PAC) swept a conference doubleheader over host Waynesburg (5-9, 2-2 PAC) Saturday afternoon by finals of 3-1 and 7-3.

Kashurba went yard in each game, raising his home run total to four on the season.

J.G. Louden (Morgantown, WV/University) posted the complete-game victory in game one (1-1), allowing one unearned run and five hits, while striking out three and walking three.  Justin Magee (Grove City, PA/Grove City) got the win in the nightcap (1-1), giving up six hits and two earned runs through the first four innings.  Magee fanned four and walked one.  Bill Hammel (Saxonburg, PA/South Kitsap (WA)) picked up the save, surrendering a pair of hits and one earned run over three innings.

Adam Myers (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake), Nate Kauffman (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan), Jeff Conaway (Freeport, PA/Freeport) and Drew Hoagland (Butler, PA/Knoch) each collected three hits in the twinbill.  Myers tripled and doubled, Conaway had a double, and Kauffman and Hoagland evenly split four of the Wolverines' seven two-base hits on the day.  

Hoagland recorded all three hits in the nightcap, going 3-for-4.  Eric Bell (Grove City, PA/Grove City) went 2-for-3 in the second game with a double and two RBI.
