Louden hurls no-no in 11-0 victory at Oberlin

OBERLIN, OH, May 3, 2000--Junior J.G. Louden (Morgantown, WV/University) recorded his first career no-hitter Wednesday, striking out six and walking three as Grove City recovered from a 5-4 loss to host Oberlin in game one with an 11-0 blanking of the Yeomen in the season finale.

Louden improved to 5-3 on the year, lowered his ERA to 3.72 and upped his season strikeout total to a team-leading 30.   Louden also launched his fourth home run of the year in the fourth inning, giving the team a school-record 22 homers on the season -- one better than last year's total.

Grove City scored six times in the fifth inning en route to its first shutout of the season.  All nine Wolverines who came to the plate had a least one hit.

GCC closed the year 14-17 overall, while Oberlin moved to 6-24 with four games remaining.
