April 1, 1999--Eric Kephart (Osceola Mills, PA/Philipsburg-Osceola) went 4-for-4 and scored three runs as Grove City (9-5, 6-4 PAC) salvaged a split against visiting Bethany (5-8, 3-1 PAC) in a key Presidents' Athletic Conference clash.

Jeff Meyers (Spencerport, NY/Churchville-Chili) notched the win (2-0), surrendering seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings.  Ron Jones (Butler, PA/Knoch) earned his first save, allowing just one hit in two scoreless innings of relief.   John Napotnik (Sharpsville, PA/Sharpsville) collected three hits in three at-bats and Paul Como (Grove City, PA/Grove City) went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.  Nate Kauffman (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) also drove in a pair of runs.

Derek Gearhart (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) contributed two hits in the 10-1 loss.
