The Grove City College baseball team (16-8, 11-5 PAC) swept a pair from visiting Waynesburg College (16-12, 10-6 PAC) to earn the second seed at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament which opens Thursday.

The Wolverines will play defending champion Waynesburg, the three seed, at Washington & Jefferson College, while fourth-seeded W&J plays fifth-seeded Thiel College in Bethany.  Bethany received a first-round bye in the double-elimination tournament.

In the 3-2 win, Eric Kephart (Osceola Mills, PA/Philipsburg-Osceola) singled home Adam Booth (North Canton, OH/Uniontown Lake) with the game-winner with one out in the eighth.   Booth walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mike Kashurba (Latrobe, PA/Latrobe).  Kashurba and Paul Como (Grove City, PA/Grove City) each had two hits in the victory.

The Wolverines opened the nightcap with nine runs in the first and held on for a 10-5 triumph.  Drew Hoagland (Butler, PA/Knoch) collected three hits and drove in a pair of runs.  Kashurba added two more hits with his second double of the day and a triple.   Nate Kauffman (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan), Kephart and Booth also had two hits.  Kauffman cracked his third home run of the season, while Kephart had a double and two RBI.

Brian Kaufold (Butler, PA/Butler) came on in relief in game one to notch the win (3-1).   Reliever Brian Beirne (Port Jervis, NY/Chapel Field) earned his first collegiate victory (1-0) in game two.
