GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College defense forced four turnovers Saturday, helping lift the Wolverines to a 35-24 win over visiting Waynesburg (4-4, 1-3 PAC) in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Robert E. Thorn Field. Grove City is now 2-2 in the PAC and 3-5 overall.
Offensively, Grove City compiled 23 first downs and 367 total yards while possessing the ball for 36 minutes, 27 seconds. The Wolverines owned possession for 11:28 of the fourth quarter.
Grove City jumped out to a 7-0 lead on its first possession of the game as sophomore tailback Blaine Miller (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) bulled into the end zone from three yards out six minutes into the game. The touchdown capped a 12-play, 80-yard drive.
Grove City extended the lead to 14-0 at the 12:07 mark of the second quarter as senior linebacker James Jennings (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) recovered a fourth-down fumble in the end zone. Waynesburg punter Nate Feniello shanked his kick and the ball landed behind the line of scrimmage. Feniello picked up the live ball - a legal maneuver - and began to run.
Junior safety Butch Kriger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) stripped Feniello at the Waynesburg 9 and the ball bounced into the end zone, where Jennings fell on it for his first touchdown.
Waynesburg's Jon Storck cut the lead to 14-3 with a 24-yard field goal at the 9:10 mark but Grove City answered with another touchdown. Miller's one-yard touchdown run with 2:31 left in the half pushed the lead out to 21-3.

Sophomore linebacker Jason Ferguson (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) scooped up the loose ball and returned it to the 16.
Four plays later, senior quarterback Andrew DiDonato (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) scored on a one-yard sneak. Junior kicker Craig Bicehouse (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) kicked the fourth of his five extra points to give Grove City a 28-3 lead.
Waynesburg trimmed the lead to 28-10 with 7:40 left in the third quarter on Justin Falcon's seven-yard touchdown run. Falcon then scored on a 15-yard run with 14:26 left in the game, closing the gap to 28-17.
However, the Wolverines put the game away with an 11-play, 90-yard drive that consumed over five minutes. DiDonato bootlegged 23 yards to the end zone for the touchdown, which put the Wolverines up 35-17. On the drive, DiDonato fired an 18-yard completion to sophomore wide receiver Luke O'Hara (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) and a 21-yarder to sophomore Will McCoy (Newark, Ohio/Newark).
