Dr. Jim Chinn is in his 11th season as an assistant football coach at Grove City College. Chinn is the team's offensive coordinator and  running backs coach.

Chinn joined the Grove City staff in 2003 after four years as head coach at Blackburn College (Ill.).

A 1983 Ohio State graduate, Chinn will again oversee what has developed into one of the region's most diverse and balanced offensive attacks.

He became passing game coordinator in 2006 and served as special teams coordinator from 2003 to 2012.

Prior to becoming head coach at Blackburn, Chinn worked there as an assistant for two seasons. He also spent four years as an assistant coach at Denison University.

Chinn's collegiate coaching career began at Norwich University in 1992 as wide receivers coach. He also coached for six years at the scholastic level in Ohio, coaching at Westerville South (1986-89) and Ironton Rock Hill (1990-91).

Chinn earned his master's degree from Norwich in 1993 and completed his doctorate in July 2011. He is also an assistant track and field coach and an Associate Professor of Physical Education at Grove City.
