ASSISTANT COACH JIM CHINN

Jim Chinn recently completed his third season as an assistant football coach at Grove City College. Chinn is the team's special teams coordinator, running backs coach and passing game coordinator.

Under his guidance, Grove City's special teams have flourished. The Wolverines have blocked 16 kicks under his tutelage, including eight blocks in 2005. Grove City has also helped limit opponents to just 16 yards per kickoff return each of the last two seasons.

Grove City running backs have also accounted for 39 touchdowns over the past three seasons.

Chinn came to Grove City in July 2003 after four years as head football coach at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Ill. In all, Chinn spent six years at Blackburn.

Prior to his stint at Blackburn, Chinn was an assistant football coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio from 1993-96. His collegiate coaching career began at Northfield, Vt.-based Norwich University in 1992 as wide receivers coach.

Chinn earned his master's degree in physical education at Norwich in 1993, where he also served as a track and field coach. He graduated from Ohio State in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in physical education.

His coaching career began as an assistant football coach at Westerville South High School in Westerville, Ohio from 1986-89. He was also an assistant football coach at Rock Hill High School in Ironton, Ohio from 1990-92.
