Bernie Davis begins his 18th season as a Wolverine assistant coach, the longest tenure of any current Grove City offensive

In his first stint as a Grove City assistant from 1995-2000, Davis coached the secondary and the outside linebackers for three seasons each.

Davis has worked with numerous standout linemen at Grove City, including tackle Pete Polesnak (2010) and guard Josh Bermann (2012), who both represented the United States in the “Bowl of the Stars” in Mexico.

Davis came to Grove City after eight seasons as head coach at nearby Lakeview High School in Stoneboro. He also spent five years as an assistant coach at Thiel College.

A 1975 graduate of Geneva College, Davis added a master’s degree from Edinboro in 1983. He spent 33 years as a science teacher at Lakeview before retiring.
