John Gibson is in his fourth season on the Grove City coaching staff and his second year as wide receivers coach.

Gibson joined the Wolverine staff as tight ends coach prior to the 2010 season after a lengthy coaching career at the scholastic level.

Gibson taught at Champion (Ohio) High School for 37 years and also spent time as the school’s head football coach. He retired as
head coach following the 2008 season.

He worked 12 seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Thiel College.

Gibson played split end at Thiel from 1967-70 and earned First Team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference recognition in each of
his four seasons.

He also acheived Little All-America and All-Lutheran recognition during his career. Thiel inducted Gibson into its Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983.
