Beth (Lora '98) Pifer

Avon Lake, Ohio, native Beth Lora played a major role in the resurgence of the Grove City College womenís basketball program from 1994 to 1998.

A dominant scorer in the post, Lora amassed 1,250 points during her career while leading Grove City in scoring during each of her four seasons. She graduated as the fourth-leading scorer in program history.

As a junior during the 1996-97 season, Lora averaged 14.6 points per game and helped lead Grove City to the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Championship Tournament at Kingís College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Lora scored 33 points in a semifinal victory over top-seeded Kingís. In the championship game against Ursinus, Lora scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Grove City to a 67-63 overtime win. She earned the tournamentís Most Valuable Player award.

In 1998, the Lora-led Wolverines returned to the ECAC Tournament and finished 16-9 overall under head coach Melissa Lamie.

She earned First Team All-Presidentsí Athletic Conference in each of her final two seasons after achieving Second Team honors as a freshman and sophomore.

In 2014, the Presidentsí Athletic Conference recognized her as a member of its 60th Anniversary Team.

Lora graduated from Grove City with a bachelorís degree in biology in 1998.
