Behrend slips past Grove City

ERIE, Pa.  -- Host Penn State Behrend (3-0) rallied from a 39-31 deficit Tuesday night to down Grove City, 66-59, in non-conference men's basketball action at the Junker Center.

Grove City (1-2) led by as many as nine in the first half and held a 39-31 lead early in the second half. However, the Lions battled back with 15-1 run that saw Grove City go exactly seven minutes without a field goal.

Junior guard J.D. Collar (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) led the Wolverines with 22 points while junior forward Ryan Eller (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) added 18 points. Seventeen of Eller's points came in the first half as the Wolverines led 32-26 at halftime.

Senior James Curren led Behrend with 21 points. Grove City made 10 of 19 three-point attempts, including six of eight in the first half. However, Behrend shot 13-for-20 (65 percent) from the floor in the final 20 minutes. Penn State Behrend also out-rebounded Grove City, 31-19. 

Grove City returns to action Wednesday night at home against Medaille.
