Grove City snaps four-game skid 

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Led by a career-high 30 points from junior forward Ryan Eller (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) and a near triple-double from senior forward Tanner Prosser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood), the Grove City College men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 78-66 victory over visiting Pitt-Greensburg Wednesday night at the Grove City College Arena.

Eller fired in 21 of his points in the second half as Grove City (4-7) closed the game with a 12-4 run. Prosser finished with 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting, along with 10 assists and eight rebounds. Junior guard J.D. Collar (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) rifled in 16 points as Grove City won at home for the first time since December 3.

The Wolverines stormed out to a 14-0 lead, holding Pitt-Greensburg (5-6) scoreless for the first 7:34 of the game. But the Bobcats countered with a 17-0 run of their own to take the lead. Grove City took the lead for good with four minutes left in the half on consecutive baskets from sophomore forward Chuck Cotherman (Knox, Pa./Cranberry), who finished with a career-high 12 rebounds. 

As a team, Grove City shot 32 for 53 (60.4 percent) from the floor while holding Pitt-Greensburg to just 36 percent (24-of-66) shooting. Pitt-Greensburg entered the game averaging over 89 points per game. 

The Wolverines also out-rebounded UPG 36-33 and converted 16 turnovers into 17 points. Prosser moved into 18th place on Grove City's all-time scoring list as he now has 1,035 points. Prosser passed Dan Von Handorf, who accumulated 1,029 points from 1992-96. 

Grove City will compete in the Moravian College Greyhound Classic this weekend. Grove City plays St. Mary's (Md.) Saturday at 6 p.m.
