O'Keefe earns All-Region, All-ECAC

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College senior men's basketball player Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) earned two prestigious honors in recognition of his outstanding play during the 2009-10 season.

Tuesday afternoon, O'Keefe earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Region from D3Hoops.com. Wednesday, O'Keefe earned First Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South honors.

A 6-foot-7 center, O'Keefe helped lead the Wolverines to the Presidents' Athletic Conference title along with the program's first berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament since 1989. He earned PAC Player of the Year honors and First Team All-PAC recognition following the season.

This year, O'Keefe averaged 17.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while helping Grove City to a 19-9 overall record. He led the conference in field goal percentage, shooting 66.5 percent from the floor. That figure ranks third in NCAA Division III.

He also shot 75.4 percent (138 of 183) from the foul line this season. O'Keefe also tallied 57 assists and 35 blocks during the season.

O'Keefe's 490 points this year are the seventh-most in program history. He finished with 1,164 career points, 13th-most in Grove City history. O'Keefe is Grove City's career leader in field goal percentage, shooting 61.0 percent from the field over his four seasons.

O' Keefe earned D3Hoops.com Third Team All-Great Lakes in 2009. He also earned Second Team Academic All-America from ESPN The Magazine and CoSIDA during this season.

He is one of four PAC players to earn All-Great Lakes recognition. Bethany senior Joe Testa and Thomas More senior Daniel McKeehan both landed on the Second Team while Thiel freshman Blair Rozenblad received Third Team honors.

Westminster senior Ryne Murray earned Second Team All-ECAC South.
