Geneva downs Grove City
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 4-4 Monday night with a 72-53 loss at NAIA Geneva in non-conference action at Metheny Fieldhouse.
Senior center Phil Bushre (Swartz Creek, Mich./Swartz Creek) led the Wolverines with 13 points and seven rebounds. Grove City trailed 30-23 at the half and pulled to within 41-36 with 11 minutes left. However, Geneva (8-5) slowly pulled away down the stretch.
Tim Sawyer and Christian Hauser each tossed in 17 points for Geneva while Stefan Grundberg had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Grove City did go 12-for-13 at the foul line as a team.
The Wolverines will compete in the Bluffton Tournament Dec. 29-30.
