Wolverines fall to Waynesburg, 70-60

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 5-10 overall and 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 70-60 loss to visiting Waynesburg (8-6, 1-2 PAC) Saturday afternoon at the Grove City College Arena.

It is Waynesburg's first win at Grove City since Jan. 31, 1998.

Grove City committed 23 turnovers for the game and shot just 33 percent (8 for 24) from the floor in the second half. Grove City also forced just eight turnovers.

Sophomore guard Shawn Carr (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) posted a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double while senior guard Matt Phillips (Bainbridge, Ohio/Kenston) added 12 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Ryan Gerber (Baltic, Ohio/Garaway) also had 12 points.

Waynesburg led 43-37 at the half and did not trail in the second half.  Beau Wilson led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points and five assists while Josh Parisi added 12 points. Jeff Nero tossed in 10.

Grove City will visit Thomas More Monday night in PAC action at 7:30.
