Grove City falls on road

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 7-12 overall and 3-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night with a 72-57 loss to homestanding Washington and Jefferson at the Henry Memorial Center.

Washington and Jefferson (7-12, 5-1 PAC) shot 27 of 49 (55 percent) from the floor for the game. The Presidents used a 17-6 spurt early in the second half to take command of the game after leading 29-21 at halftime.

Junior forward Mark Smith (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) led the Wolverines with 16 points and five rebounds. Jon Koch and Brandon Studer led Washington and Jefferson with 17 points each.

Grove City will visit Westminster in PAC action February 1.
