GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team remained atop the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night with a 72-54 victory at Thiel in conference action at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia. Grove City is now 5-1 in the PAC and 11-6 overall.

Grove City senior guard Shawn Carr (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) fired in a game-high 19 points in the win and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career. Carr drained a three-pointer with 10:28 left in the game to become the 22nd Grove City player to reach 1,000 points. He now has 1,002 for his career.

Sophomore Luke Tomaselli (Cresson, Pa./Penn Cambria) added 11 points, including three three-point goals, while sophomore center Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) chipped in 10 points.

Grove City shot 51 percent (25 of 49) from the field, including 11-of-19 (58 percent) marksmanship behind the three-point line. The Wolverines also committed just nine turnovers in the win.

Tomaselli hit back-to-back three-pointers midway through the first half to give Grove City a 23-12 lead. O'Keefe's runner in the lane at the first-half buzzer gave Grove City a 35-23 halftime lead.
