Wolverines roll to 74-42 win

BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's basketball team returned to action after a 19-day layoff Tuesday evening by earning a 74-42 victory over Ohio State-Lima in the semifinals of Bluffton College's McDonald's Holiday Tournament at Founders Hall. Grove City (6-2) limited Ohio State-Lima to just 21 percent (13 of 62) shooting from the field.

Junior center Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) led Grove City with 15 points while sophomore center Kris Verderber (Bainbridge, Ohio/Kenston) added 11 points in 14 minutes off the bench. Sophomore guard Caleb Orchard (Loudonville, Ohio/Loudonville) added eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Grove City shot 45 percent (25 of 56) from the field for the game, including a 13-for-23 (57 percent) effort in the second half. Grove City also knocked down 20 of 26 foul shots and committed just 12 turnovers.

The Wolverines out-rebounded Ohio State-Lima (0-17), 50-38. Fourteen players scored for Grove City. Grove City led 31-17 at halftime. The Wolverines held Ohio State-Lima without a field goal over the final seven minutes of the game.

Grove City will face host Bluffton in the championship game Wednesday at 3 p.m. Bluffton (7-4) downed Wright State-Lake in the other semifinal, 82-67.
