Grove City falls to Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 74-58 decision to host Bluffton Wednesday afternoon in the championship game of the McDonald's Holiday Classic at Founders Hall.

Grove City (6-3) shot 51 percent (24 of 47) from the field in the game but allowed Bluffton (8-4) to shoot 52 percent (27 of 52) from the floor. Grove City also turned the ball over 21 times. Senior guard Ryan Gibson (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) led Grove City with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting.

Bluffton led 32-27 at halftime and broke the game open with a 12-3 run midway through the second half. Aaron Taylor led Bluffton with 21 points while Colt Cunningham added 15.

Bluffton also owned a 28-22 edge on the glass. Senior guard Joe McCoy (Newark, Ohio/Newark) and junior center Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) both had five rebounds each. O'Keefe also had a team-high three assists.

Gibson and O'Keefe both earned All-Tournament Team recognition.

Grove City will visit Juniata Monday night at 7 p.m. in non-conference action.
