TMC tops Grove City

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night with an 80-48 setback against host Thomas More in PAC action at the Connor Convocation Center.

Thomas More (8-5, 4-1 PAC) led 39-26 at the half and effectively sealed the win with a 21-0 run midway through the second half.

Freshman guards Mike Conglose (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) and Cody Fleeger (Butler, Pa./Butler) each scored eight points for Grove City, which shot 40 percent (20 of 50) from the field. Thomas More shot 51 percent (29 of 57) from the field.

Junior center Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) pulled in six rebounds, helping Grove City own a 34-30 edge on the glass. Grove City committed 20 turnovers while Thomas More had just seven.

Eddie Brown and Matty Owens each scored a game-high 11 points for Thomas More. Thomas More made 14 of 28 three-point attempts.

Grove City returns to action Saturday afternoon at PAC rival Bethany. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
