November 20, 1998--The "Steve Lamie Era" opened Friday night at the West Penn Classic in Washington, PA as the Wolverines tipped-off their 1998-99 season against Allegheny College.

Grove City gave its first-year head coach a 31-28 lead at halftime, but fell in the end, 76-66.  Sophomore Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) pumped in a team-high 15 points, while senior Brent Steineman (Pickerington, OH/Wadsworth) and junior Damon Finazzo (Erie, PA/McDowell) chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively.  Junior Lee Huffman (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) had 10 points and a team-best six rebounds.

The Wolverines play Carnegie Mellon University tomorrow night at Allegheny beginning at 6:00 p.m.
