Muhlenberg 70, Grove City 61

Grove City College cut a 16-point halftime deficit to three but couldn't get any closer in a 70-61 loss to Muhlenberg College in opening round action at the Greyhound Reebok Classic hosted by Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

Mike Cratsley (Temecula, CA/Temecula) scored a team-high 14 points and Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) and Brent Steineman (Pickerington, OH/Wadsworth) added 11 and 10 points, respectively.  Lee Huffman led all Wolverines with seven rebounds.

After trailing 42-26 at halftime, Grove City closed the gap to 53-50 with just under seven minutes remaining.

The Wolverines were outshot 43% to 39%, despite holding the Mules to just six field goals (6-19) in the second half.

Grove City, now 5-5 overall, will play in tomorrow night's consolation game at 6:00 p.m. against the loser of Ramapo College and host Moravian.  Muhlenberg upped its season mark to 6-2.
