Grove City falls on road

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 5-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 79-54 setback at Thomas More in the Connor Convocation Center.

Thomas More broke open the game with a 26-7 run during the final 10 minutes of the first half, helping the Saints lead 44-26 at halftime. The Saints (8-10, 7-2) then maintained their double-digit lead throughout the second half.

Freshman center Luke Tincha (Butler, Pa./Butler) led Grove City with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field. Junior guard Christian Durbin (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) added eight points and a team-high four assists.

Junior guard J.T. Schwartz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) led the Wolverines with four rebounds. He also had four steals. Thomas More outrebounded Grove City, 32-27.

Spencer Berlekamp led Thomas More with 15 points. The Saints shot 27 of 55 (49 percent) from the field while Grove City went 21 for 51 (41 percent).

Grove City (8-9 overall) visits conference foe Waynesburg Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
