Thomas More tops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 79-46 decision to visiting Thomas More (11-6, 6-2) Tuesday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Thomas More went 19 for 40 (47.5 percent) from behind the three-point line for the game. Overall, Thomas More shot 28 of 56 (50 percent) while Grove City went 14 for 43 (33 percent). Grove City converted just 5 of 22 (23 percent) field goal attempts in the second half. Thomas More led 33-26 at halftime and opened the second half with a 19-4 run.

Senior guard Mitch Marmelstein (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's) led Grove City (7-9, 2-5 PAC) with 10 points and six rebounds. Senior guard J.T. Schwartz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) recorded three steals.

Nate McGovney led Thomas More with 22 points, including six three-point goals.

Grove City hosts conference foe Bethany Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
