Grove City 59, La Roche 56

February 10, 1999--Grove City outscored visiting La Roche 30-9 in the final 13 minutes and escaped with a 59-56 victory to improve to 13-7 on the season and extend its winning streak to six games.  La Roche dropped to 8-12.

The Wolverines trailed 36-24 at halftime and fell behind 47-29 before going on a 22-0 run.

David Stiansen (Telford, PA/Souderton) was one of three Wolverines in double-figures with 15 points, including four three-pointers.  Michael Cratsley and Dave Pifer fired in 14 and 13 points, respectively.  Brent Steineman (Pickerington, OH/Wadsworth) led the way on the boards with 10 caroms and added a team-high four assists.

The Wolverines, winners of eight of their last nine games, last won six straight in 1994-95.

Grove City travels to Waynesburg for a key Presidents' Athletic Conference game Saturday at 7:30 p.m.  The game be heard on 91.1, WSAJ-FM.
