GCC claims third straight fifth-place finish

WASHINGTON, PA, April 8, 2002--Senior Nate Miklos (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Christian) carded the Wolverines' first round in the 70s on Monday, shooting 77 to tie for fifth overall as Grove City placed fifth out of 10 schools at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational at Lone Pine Golf Course.

Miklos went out in 39 and came back in 38 to finish three strokes behind medalist Scott Bedillion of Waynesburg, who shot 74.

Wolverine senior Chris Moreland (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg-Salem) placed 10th in the 55-man field with a round of 80.

Westminster won the invitational with a team score of 311 followed by La Roche (321), W&J (325), Waynesburg (326), Grove City (329), Pitt-Greensburg (340), Penn State Behrend (352), St. Vincent (363), Bethany (371) and Thiel (387).

The Wolverines placed fifth at their two previous events: Westminster Invitational (5th/12) and Bethany Invitational (T-5th/9).
