Wolverines place third at home invite

GROVE CITY, PA, April 22, 2002--In a final tune-up before the 2002 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship, the Grove City College men's golf team placed third out of five schools at its own invitational Monday at the Grove City Country Club.

Westminster College won the event with a team score of 308.  La Roche College took second at 322 followed by Grove City (331), Bethany College (340) and Thiel College (414).

Wolverine senior Nate Miklos (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Christian) tied for sixth overall with a round of 80.  Westminster's Jim McGovern won medalist honors with a 72.

Sophomore Richey Pefferman (New Martinsville, WV/Magnolia) competed on Grove City's "B" Team and fired a 79 to place fifth in the field of 28 golfers.

The PAC Men's Golf Championship will be held Wednesday and Thursday at Oglebay's Speidel Golf Course in Wheeling, WV.
