Tulk wins MVP as Grove City men take 3rd at PACs
WHEELING, W. Va. -- The Grove City College men's golf team finished third out of five teams at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held at Oglebay Golf Course in Wheeling, W. Va. Friday afternoon.
Freshman Justin Tulk (Cheboygan, Mich./Cheboygan) earned conference MVP honors with a two-day, 36-hole total of 150. Tulk won by three strokes over Westminster's John Matune.
As a team, the Wolverines posted a team total of 653 strokes, seven behind runner-up Washington and Jefferson. Westminster won the conference title with a total of 621.
In addition, senior Jeremy Plaisted (Butler, Pa./Butler) earned PAC Second Team honors by finishing 10th with a two-day total of 164.
Freshman Jon Cameron (Solon, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) finished 12th with a 169 while sophomore Jeff Mohrman (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) took 17th. Senior Dan Sumner (New Wilmington, Pa./Neshannock) finished 19th.
