Grove City wins Waynesburg Invitational

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- In its final tune-up for next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, the Grove City College men's golf team won the Waynesburg Invitational Thursday at Greene County Country Club.

The Wolverines accumulated 326 total strokes, finishing ahead of host Waynesburg (331) and Thiel (336).

Junior Alex Intihar (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) led Grove City with a 78, good for third place. Sophomore Joe Vansovich (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) finished fourth with a 79 while sophomore Jon Cameron (Solon, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) tied for sixth at 80.

Waynesburg's Matt Gibson earned medalist honors with a 76. Grove City will compete in the PAC Championships April 29-30 in Wheeling, W. Va. at Oglebay.
