Grove City opens season
LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team opened the 2005 season Thursday afternoon with a third-place finish at the St. Vincent Invitational at Glengarry Links. The Wolverines accumulated 307 total strokes, trailing only NCAA Division II Clarion (282) and NAIA member Seton Hill (291).
Senior Jeff Mohrman (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) led the Wolverines with a round of 74 while freshman Dustin Sams (Sligo, Pa./Union Rimersburg) fired a 76 in his collegiate debut.
Grove City will return to action Friday morning at the Ashland (Ohio) Invitational.
