Fitch earns medalist honors; Grove City 3rd at PACs

WHEELING, W. Va. -- Led by Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian), the Grove City College men's golf team placed third at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Friday at Spiedel Golf Course. The Wolverines accumulated 638 team strokes during the two-day event, trailing Westminster (615) and Washington and Jefferson (631).

Fitch earned the PAC's Player of the Year award after posted a 36-hole total of 148 on the par-71 course. Fitch shot a 72 Thursday, then carded a 76 Friday to win the individual title by two strokes over Westminster's John Matune. Fitch also earned First Team All-PAC honors.

Junior Tony Zanotti (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) earned Second Team All-PAC recognition after finishing in a ninth-place tie at 161.
