Grove City wins Waynesburg Invitational
CANONSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team opened the 2007 season Tuesday afternoon by winning the Waynesburg Invitational at Southpointe Country Club. Grove City won the team title with a five-player score of 405. Host Waynesburg (411) took second, followed by Seton Hill (439), Pitt-Greensburg (440) and Bethany (455).
Sophomore Dan Statler (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) earned medalist honors with a round of of 78. Sophomore Jacob Morrison (Georgetown, Texas/Leander) tied for second at 79.
Grove City will compete in the Westminster Invitational Monday, April 2 in New Castle.
