Fitch medalist as Grove City takes 4th
LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured fourth at the 16-team Saint Vincent Bearcat Invitational Thursday afternoon at Latrobe Country Club. Led by a 74 from junior medalist Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian), Grove City accumulated 319 total strokes. NCAA Division II member Clarion won the team title with 310 strokes, followed by Washington & Jefferson (312) and Indiana University of Pa. (314).
Fitch won a three-way playoff to earn medalist honors. Sophomore Dan Statler (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) tied for fifth place with a 76.
Grove City will host the McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational Monday, April 23.
