Grove City 3rd at 'MBA' Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed third out of six teams at its own McBride-Behringer-Allen Invitational at Grove City Country Club Monday afternoon. The Wolverines accumulated 332 total strokes. Saint Vincent won with 319 while Medaille placed second at 329. Waynesburg (332), Slippery Rock (348) and Pitt-Greensburg (353) rounded out the field.

Junior Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) tied for second overall with a 77. Saint Vincent's Christopher Zamias carded a 76 to earn medalist honors on the par-72 course.

The event is named in honor of three gentlemen who have made a profound impact on Grove City College and its golf program: longtime trustee Milford "Miff" McBride, former golf coach and director of athletics R. Jack Behringer and longtime Grove City golf coach Bill Allen.

Grove City will compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday and Thursday at Oak Tree Golf Course in West Middlesex.
